Ingredients:
- 4 cups water
- 6 individual black tea bags
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup granulated white sugar
- 8 cups cold filtered water
Instructions:
- Bring 4 cups (950ml) of water to a simmer in a saucepan. Remove from heat just as the first bubbles break the surface.
- Add the 6 tea bags and the baking soda to the water. Cover and steep for exactly 5 minutes. Remove tea bags without squeezing them.
- While the tea concentrate is still hot, stir in the granulated white sugar vigorously until completely dissolved.
- Pour the hot concentrate into a 1-gallon pitcher and immediately add 8 cups (1.9L) of cold filtered water to rapidly chill the brew.
- Fill glasses with ice and pour the tea over the top to serve.
