Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240g) full-fat sour cream
- 0.25 cup (60g) high-quality mayonnaise
- 0.5 cup (120g) prepared horseradish, slightly drained
- 1 tbsp (15g) fresh horseradish root, finely grated (optional)
- 1 tsp (5ml) apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp (5ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 0.5 tsp (3g) kosher salt
- 0.25 tsp (1g) freshly cracked white pepper
- 2 tbsp (6g) fresh chives, finely minced
Instructions:
- In a non-reactive glass or stainless steel mixing bowl, whisk together the sour cream and mayonnaise until the mixture is completely smooth and free of streaks.
- Gently fold in the prepared horseradish, grated fresh horseradish (if using), apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce using a spatula.
- Season with kosher salt, white pepper, and minced chives. Fold gently to combine without over-aerating.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This resting period allows the volatile oils in the horseradish to stabilize and the flavors to meld.
