Ingredients:
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup (200g) packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
- 3 cups (270g) old-fashioned rolled oats
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Whisk the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, stirring vigorously until the mixture looks glossy and well-combined.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Use a spatula to fold the dry ingredients into the wet until just a few streaks of flour remain.
- Stir in the rolled oats and chocolate chips manually, being careful not to overmix.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough (about 2 tbsp per cookie) onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes. Remove when the edges are a deep golden brown but the centers still look slightly underbaked.
