Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup (200g) packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
  • 3 cups (270g) old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Whisk the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, stirring vigorously until the mixture looks glossy and well-combined.
  2. Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Use a spatula to fold the dry ingredients into the wet until just a few streaks of flour remain.
  3. Stir in the rolled oats and chocolate chips manually, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough (about 2 tbsp per cookie) onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes. Remove when the edges are a deep golden brown but the centers still look slightly underbaked.
