Ingredients:

  • 3 medium overripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup neutral oil
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with oil or butter, or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until mostly smooth.
  3. Whisk in the pumpkin puree, oil, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is cohesive and the sugar has mostly dissolved.
  4. Sift the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and salt directly into the wet ingredients.
  5. Using a spatula, gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet until no streaks of flour remain. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
