Ingredients:
- 1 (9-inch) frozen pie crust, baked and cooled (227g)
- 3 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced (450g)
- 1 package strawberry-flavored gelatin mix (85g)
- 1 cup water (240ml)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g)
Instructions:
- Bake the frozen pie crust according to package directions until the edges are a light mahogany color, then let it cool completely to room temperature. Note: This prevents the soggy bottom.
- Fill the cooled crust with sliced strawberries, piling them high and mounding them slightly in the center.
- Press down gently to remove air gaps until the berries are snug.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water, strawberry gelatin mix, and sugar.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and whisk constantly.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer until the gelatin is fully dissolved and the liquid is clear.
- Slowly pour the hot glaze over the strawberries, using a spoon to ensure every berry is coated.
- Smooth the top with a spatula until the surface is level.
- Refrigerate the pie for 3 to 4 hours until the glaze is firm to the touch and the pie is stable.
