  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp ground mustard
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (customizable heat factor)

Instructions:

  1. Combine all dry ingredients (brown sugar, paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, black pepper, thyme, ground mustard, and cayenne pepper) in a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Whisk thoroughly for approximately 2 minutes until all ingredients are evenly distributed and no clumps remain, ensuring the salt and sugar are fully integrated into the spice mixture.
  3. Store the finished dry rub in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. Use immediately by applying liberally to chicken skin (about 2 tablespoons per pound of meat) and allowing to sit for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
