- 1 cup (240ml) Balsamic Vinegar of Modena
Instructions:
- Pour the balsamic vinegar into the saucepan over medium heat and bring the liquid to a gentle simmer, avoiding a violent boil to prevent scorching the sugars.
- Allow the liquid to simmer undisturbed for 10–15 minutes until the volume has reduced by approximately half and the aroma becomes deep and caramelized.
- Perform the 'Spoon Test' by dipping a metal spoon into the glaze and running a finger through the center; if the line holds cleanly without the glaze running back together, the consistency is correct.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat immediately to prevent over-reduction.
