Ingredients:
- 1 cup (170g) uncooked quinoa
- 2 cups (480ml) water
- 1 tbsp (14g) unsalted butter
- 3 cloves (9g) garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp (3g) sea salt
Instructions:
- Place the quinoa in a fine-mesh strainer and rinse under cold running water for 30 seconds. Shake well to remove excess moisture.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant but not brown.
- Stir in the rinsed quinoa, stirring constantly for 2–3 minutes until the grains smell nutty and look slightly toasted.
- Pour in the water and stir in the salt. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, then immediately reduce the heat to low.
- Cover with the lid and simmer for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
- Remove the pan from the heat. Keep the lid on and let the quinoa rest for 5 minutes.
- Remove the lid and use a fork to gently fluff the grains, separating them without mashing.
