How To Make Orange Julius Recipe With Fresh Orange Juice?

Prepare time: 10 min

Ingredients

  • 2 fresh oranges
  • 2 tsp.  freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 1/4 cup simple syrup divided (1 cup)
  • 1/2 cup vodka (optional)

Instructions

Step 1. Peel orange and cut in half.

Step 2. Squeeze oranges and measure out the juice. You should get about 2 cups of fresh orange juice. We used fresh orange juice here, but you can use store bought concentrate, too.

Step 3. Measure out 1 cup of simple syrup into a bowl and stir with lemon juice to dissolve sugar into a syrup consistency.

Step 4. Place the two oranges in a clean jar or container with a tight lid (a coffee mug works well).

Step 5. Pour the simple syrup over the oranges, leaving 1/2 inch of airspace.

Step 6. Press down on the oranges with a bowl, muddler or wooden spoon so most of the syrup gets released and keeps on coming out as you stir.

Step 7. Let sit for at least 1 hour before serving to allow some of the flavors to infuse. The longer it sits, the better the drink will be!
