How To Make Sweet Potato Pie Recipe With Orange Juice?

Prepare time:  1 hour 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes (¾ pound each)
  • 6 cups carrots peeled and grated
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup apple juice (more as needed)
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 1 Tablespoon butter
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

Step 1. Peel and grate the sweet potatoes. You will need 4 cups of grated sweet potatoes. Put grated sweet potato and carrots in a bowl and mix well until everything is evenly mixed.

Step 2 Place a skillet over medium heat and add the sugar, salt, and nutmeg. Stir until the sugar melts, then cook for approximately 5 minutes to avoid burning the mixture.

Step 3 Add orange juice until you reach a pouring consistency. Stir continuously so that it stays as uniform as possible throughout the entire dish. This can help the dish turn out smooth.

Step 4 Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9-inch pie pan and place the sweet potato mixture in the pie pan. Pour the orange juice over it as directed in step 3 above and cook for about 45 minutes.
